Connector Pin Packaging

Counting systems have been used for more than 30 years for counting of connector pins used in electrical connectors into vials or packets of a certain count.

The dual packeting chute unit may be equipped with a vial filling accessory which holds a vial in place to be into a plastic bag or packet.

For heavy duty applications the dual packeting chute may be an air operated type allowing extremely long use without service.

Recently a new labor saving accessory, the Manifold Vial Handling Accessory has been developed which allows filling of 50 or more vials without operator attention, either with a single counter or a twin system.

Manifolds are available for different size vials, each manifold holding 10 or more vials depending on the vial size.

Feeder Bowls may be equipped with calibrated dials to allow a less skilled operator to operate the system using a “Cookbook whose data ” provides the proper setting for each connector pin and sealing plug part number for both the feeder bowl track width adjustments and the proper counter operating settings.

Feeders maintain the quick empty feature thereby allowing fast changeover between parts.

Contact Decoupler Accessory: Male connector pins may couple front to rear forming chains of pins which can count as one since the counter cannot “see” the individual pins and significant count errors can occur.

A special counting head with a decoupling mechanism is available which replaces the standard counting head.

This Decoupling Head physically decouples these pins as they go through the system thereby providing equal accuracy to that obtained with female pins or non-coupling types.

More recently twin systems have become common where one system will supply a required count of a connector pin and the other would provide a required count of a plastic sealing plug, both being delivered to the same vial or packet.

These twin systems are electronically interlocked so that each must deliver its programmed count before another count can begin.
